ARYAN FILM LUT
Ravengrade just acquired a print-film emulation LUT from the Warner Bros color department, based on a 1990s Kodak film stock. It combines authentic film texture with deep cyan-leaning colors and warm natural skin tones.
BLUE & TEAL
The package comes with two variations.
A steel-blue version and a teal version that shifts the palette toward richer cyan-green tones. Both make the skin pop with excellent depth and separation, while the cold tones are beautifully integrated with the rich blacks—an intricate balance that is difficult to achieve manually.
PORCELAIN LOOK
In overcast or cool daylight, the LUT reduces warmth in the skin, creating a drained, porcelain look that blends naturally with the cool cyan surroundings.
Skin TONES
The skin tones drift subtly with the cold tones in each variation.
The teal version introduces warmer, more orange tones to complement the cyan-green palette, while the blue variation leans toward a more natural magenta cast, helping the skin blend into the color scheme.
TEcHNICAL
Normally, a PFE LUT require cineon transforms, gamut compressions, matrixes and various adjustments to be used properly for grading. This is all baked into the Aryan Film LUTs.
MIDDLE GRAY ACCURACY
The middle gray of the LUTs are aligned to the camera’s color space to preserve correct exposure and full dynamic range. No shifts in exposure when applied correctly.
COLOR SPACES
The LUTs expect Cineon and are designed for rec709 / P3 d65 out. Can be transformed to other camera inputs with a CST Node in DaVinci Resolve.
NO BREAKAGE
Every technical component of the LUTs are shaped by color scientists to ensure the image does not quantize, clip or clamp. Expect high-quality behaviour.
INGREDIENTS
The LUTs include baked-in print matrices, film gamut compression, and Cineon transforms to ensure accurate film-style color reproduction from capture through final viewing.
